Description:
The following steps explain how to set up the correct publishing settings when publishing a SCORM package from an eLearning platform. Note that these steps are specific to eLearnings built in the Articulate Storyline program.
Instructions:
When an eLearning is finalized and ready to be published as a SCORM package, select the “Publish” icon at the top of the screen. The Publish window will open.
Select “LMS/LRS” on the left side.
Select the “Reporting and Tracking” button.
In the next window, select “LMS” from the left side. Then, under “LMS Reporting,” select ‘Report status to LMS as:’ “Completed/Incomplete.” NOTE: This step is crucial to ensure the eLearning will be graded correctly once uploaded into CACWT.
Next, select “Tracking” on the left side. In this window, set the number or percentage of slides viewed that trigger completion of the eLearning. This is the threshold that learners will need to meet in order to receive a “Complete” status for the eLearning. For example, if the course has 50 slides and the percentage viewed is set to 90%, learners will need to view at least 45 slides to earn completion status.
Once you have finalized the settings in the Reporting and Tracking window, select “OK” to save. You will be taken to the original Publish window.
In the Publish window, check the following:
Title and folder - Is the title correct? Is the folder location correct?
Properties - Select preferred player type and check that Publish is set to publish the “Entire Project” (e.g. all slides in the eLearning).
Reporting and Tracking - Ensure the “Report to an LMS” box is checked. The dropdown menu will provide publishing options. SCORM 1.2 is recommended.
When you have completed the above steps, select the “Publish” button.
The publishing process may take a few minutes. Once the process is complete, the Publish Successful window will open. Select the “ZIP” icon to save the SCORM package to a ZIP file.
Completing the steps above will produce a SCORM package that can be uploaded to CACWT. See section 4.2.4 for instructions on uploading the SCORM package to a CACWT course.
