Instructors: Accessing Blackboard Ally Tool.

Description:

Instructors or Training Assistants can use the ALLY Tool in Blackboard to determine if documents meet accessibility standards.  If files reveal a low accessibility score, the Ally tool will provide details and instructions for how to remediate the content.  Updated content can then be uploaded directly from within the Ally user interface.   

Instructions:

1. Navigate to a CACWT course.
   

2. From within the course content area, Choose the Add content icon.
   

3. Then, choose “Content Market”.
   

4. Next, select "Accessibility report".
   

5. You will see the following screen.
   

6. Use the accessibility report to review errors or issues need to be addressed.
   Then, click "Start".
   

7. To fix major issues, select the content item that needs attention.
   

8. The Ally tool will highlight areas that need to be modified.
   

9. You can make corrections externally, then upload the new version.
   

10. Once your changes have been made, click the close button to review the right column. Each file will display the results of the new accessibility check from the uploaded file.
